This project is the outcome an international workshop, where we attempted to solve social issues with an interdisciplinary approach.
This solution was created within the Ethical Smart City Charrette organized by the David Brown College and the Institute Without Boundaries in Toronto. It was an interdisciplinary design strategy workshop, where students from different background get to work for four intensive days on solving a real problem. I was lucky enough to attend in 2019, when the theme was Ethical Smart Cities, so our main focus was integrating technology in our solution in an ethical way. Our team looked at Halifax, a Canadian municipality in Nova Scotia, where food deserts are impacting the lives of hundreds of people. We decided to combine existing solutions with new ones, and created the 'Neighbourhub', a community based program that aims to solve food distribution in the area.
